You're still inside the hall, and you can still see the other pairs, but you can neither hear them nor, for some reason, interpret their body language in any meaningful fashion, even if you're normally good at such things.

Two stones - or maybe peach pits? - lie on the floor in front of you. One has the number 1 on it; the other has 2. You get the impression that each of you should pick one.

* - There is nothing preventing you from discussing the situation with your partner, "OOC," but the point is to play it out, not talk about it.

* - The details of what happened and why are yours to make up. There are no secret "true" answers for you to discover.

* - You know, intrinsically, that the ‘you’ is a role. The role can share traits with your real self, but it doesn’t have to.

* - One of the cardinal rules of improve is “don’t deny your partner.” So, if your partner says “you’re a dick.” Don’t say “No, I’m not.” You don’t have to agree with everything they say, but if you disagree, you should do so in a way which adds to the story, not subtracts from it. So, for instance, “Of course you’d think I’m a dick. I can’t believe all those lies your parents have been feeding you about me!” is fine.

1: 2 has killed someone important to you. Now, you are ready to confront them. What will you do?

What is it, then?

To make you engage with the story. Anger has value, as does vengeance in its place. As does the ability to take on a role. But this isn't the time or the place for causing pain.

If someone hurts you or your loved ones for real, you'll do what is necessary. And you'll hold back, if the slight is merely a tale. There's strength in doing both.
